Common Ground
Common Ground serves the youth in the Oak View community of Huntington Beach to bring hope to at-risk youth in low income communities by providing much-needed after school programs and safe community.
YoungLives is focused on building relationships with teen moms and dads by entering their world, modeling unconditional love, and encouraging them to become the men and women, and fathers and mothers, that God created them to be.
Serve City facilitates the efforts of local Christians working together to respond to the city of Huntington Beach’s greatest needs in order to make Jesus known among our neighbors.
The Visschers moved from Huntington Beach to Ecuador in 2016, using their skills to begin rebuilding rural communities that were hard hit by an earthquake. They are also involved in projects to bring clean, reliable water to the area, working with local churches, and demonstrating Jesus’ love in a tangible way to the Ecuadorean people.
Richard and Julie Cox moved to Nairobi, Kenya in November 2020 to begin their mission of empowering local projects to improve quality of life and share the good news of the gospel with rural communities. Currently, their focus is on serving widows and orphans.
James is training to become a Bible Translation Consultant with Wycliffe. He will be coming alongside local teams to translate the bible for communities that don’t yet have access to scripture in their native language.
Brian is an urban missionary focusing on evangelism, outreach, teaching, and speaking at churches, youth groups, missions trips, marriage and men’s conferences, recovery groups, and schools. He lives in Huntington Beach with his wife and three kids.
Capernaum is Young Life’s ministry designed intentionally for students with disabilities. Capernaum creates spaces where teens and young adults with disabilities have the chance to develop fulfilling friendships, experience fun and adventure, challenge their limits, meet Jesus, and grow in their faith at club, camp, and bible studies.
Haven Way Collective provides safe, stable housing for young moms and their children, coupled with structured programming and measurable support to help families move toward health, independence, and long-term stability.
Horizon Pregnancy Clinic provides caring and personal support to those in crisis pregnancy situations. From pregnancy tests and ultrasounds, to classes, resources, and products, they provide a multitude of services before and after baby arrives all for free with love.
Camp Alandale hosts five week-long camps for foster youth during the summer that are specifically designed to develop relationships between campers and counselors, to grow individual confidence and self-esteem, and to provide outlets for healing from past abuse — all centered on the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Foster the City is a coalition of churches providing loving homes for children in foster care. They equip Foster Families and surround them with a team of Support Friends, providing critical support to enable them to foster longer and stronger.
